—The NOUN BLOCKBUSTER. A request that a noun or noun phrase be specified further to obtain the part of the representation intended by the information source.—The ACTION BLOCKBUSTER. A request for more specification about how an action is to be performed, that is, what specifically that action is.—The UNIVERSAL BLOCKBUSTER. A request that members of a group be differentiated in a useful way, inviting a closer look at a representation.—The BOUNDARY CROSSING Pointer. A request for the specific conditions or consequences which make an action either necessary or impossible.—The COMPARATOR Pointer. A request for the standard or object which is being compared to. (p.266-267)
—The EVIDENCE Question. The question, "What will you accept as evidence," can be used to direct attention to a representation of a desired state.—The DIFFERENCE Question. The question, "What is the difference between (any present state) and (a related desired state)" can help to elicit the difference which is to be eliminated by an action.—The EFFICIENCY Challenge. The question, "What factors are known which will eliminate this potential course of action from consideration," can prevent time being spent obtaining high quality information about an alternative which isn't feasible.—The RELEVANCY Challenge. The question, "How does (statement) relate to the outcome agreed on for this meeting," is a challenge to any statement which in the perception of the information processor is not relevant to the outcome. This procedure demands that the information source justify his statement relative to the context.—The RECYCLE Procedure. Provides a memo of return points. Any part of a statement which is less specified than might be desirable is kept track of and no vital information will be lost when other tracks are followed. —The MISSING LINK Procedure. The question. "How will that achieve what we want?" is a special adaptation of the Relevancy challenge to develop new branches in the phase known as Pathfinding. (p. 266)
—The OUTCOME Frame. By the use of this Frame the manager establishes the next target state or outcome that is the immediate concern of the transaction. Once established, this Frame provides an explicit standard of relevance and efficiency within which information may be organized.—The BACKTRACK Frame. This Frame provides a mechanism to review or trace the development of the information maps which is relevant to the outcome established.—The AS-IF Frame. This Frame provides a technique for creating a context to access information which would otherwise be unavailable because of some present state restriction. (p. 265)
