—The EVIDENCE Question. The question, "What will you accept as evidence," can be used to direct attention to a representation of a desired state.
—The DIFFERENCE Question. The question, "What is the difference between (any present state) and (a related desired state)" can help to elicit the difference which is to be eliminated by an action.
—The EFFICIENCY Challenge. The question, "What factors are known which will eliminate this potential course of action from consideration," can prevent time being spent obtaining high quality information about an alternative which isn't feasible.
—The RELEVANCY Challenge. The question, "How does (statement) relate to the outcome agreed on for this meeting," is a challenge to any statement which in the perception of the information processor is not relevant to the outcome. This procedure demands that the information source justify his statement relative to the context.
—The RECYCLE Procedure. Provides a memo of return points. Any part of a statement which is less specified than might be desirable is kept track of and no vital information will be lost when other tracks are followed. —The MISSING LINK Procedure. The question. "How will that achieve what we want?" is a special adaptation of the Relevancy challenge to develop new branches in the phase known as Pathfinding. (p. 266)
