How to See Stereograms?
According to statistics the overwhelming majority of people can see stereograms without any preliminary training, 20 % never see them without any dependence on spent efforts, so, this section is intended for very small number of program users.
Best distance for viewing stereogram is the distance close to image size. For observing normal (divergence) stereogram it is necessary to focus sight not on the image surface, but under it. You must not focus on observing of texture, you have to look into depth. If you do it correctly your eyes will became directed on the corresponding points of two neighbouring texture strips. For some people it is more easy to start observing the picture from very close distance to make eyes to squint and then move it more far. It may cause some problems, but majority of people solves these problems without great efforts.
For observing convergence (cross-eyed) stereogram eyes must be focused on some point before image surface. Some people obtain better results with divergence stereograms, others prefer convergence pictures. The easiest way to learn viewing stereograms is using Single Image Random Dot Stereograms.
